I would be willing to bet a quarter, that it is the Ultracote "Bright Yellow" There is a Cub Yellow, but it has a bit of orange in it.

And as to the white, in regular Ultracote (not one of the "lite" or transparent), there is only "White" and Pearl white, and I don't believe it is the Pearl White.

Mine came with some extra covering in the box. I think there was sliver, black and yellow. Did you look there?

Hey guys - I just ordered one of these with the recommended Hacker A40-10s v2 with a Falcon 14x7. As I have been reading through this thread, I don't see many people using this motor. Is there a problem with it that I should know about? Is it underpowered for this plane (I'm going to power it with 4S 4200mah 50c packs)?

If so, I'd like to catch 3DHS before they process my order so I can change it.

Thanks!

Best power on 4s is the Motrolfly 4315-714 with a 16x8.

You'll be fine with the recommended setup (I flew it for a bit). However the Edge tends to end up tail heavy, and requires a wee bit of weight up front. To kill two birds with one motor, many people on the forum get the motrolfly 4315 714kv. On the upside, you get to slap a bigger prop on it. That's what I now have on mine, with a 15x7.

IIRC, you can also run a 15x7 on the hacker, I believe joe smith runs his on the same, but don't quote me on it because my memory may be fuzzy.

Unfortunately, the A40 is underpowered for this plane, and as the Edge tends to come out tail heavy, in my opinion (Sorry TimmyC), the best motor for this plane is the Hacker A50-14XS on 5S. It has tremendous power with this motor, and balances perfectly with a 5S 45C 3850mAH pack.

Nah, Motrolfly all the way. He has 4s packs anyway, not 5s. I would have said 4315-480 on 6s (what I run) if he didn't have batteries.

Sorry for the confusion. Actually, I don't have the 4S batteries in-hand - they are also on order (and if I call first thing this morning I think I can get the order canceled/changed before they ship them).

So that being said, what is the overall recommended motor/ESC/battery setup for this plane? I appreciate the help - I'm coming over from the gasser world and the nuances of electrics are still unfamiliar to me.

So after reading through hundreds and hundreds of posts (whew!), it sounds like my all-around best setup (power, price, weight distribution, flight time, etc...) will look something like this:

Motrolfly 4315-480
ZTW 85 ESC
6S 3300mah

With this, it looks like I'll be spinning a 15x8 prop (probably Xoar - they've always treated me well on my gassers)

Sound about right?

Also, I was planning on running HS225mg servos - is it worth the extra $50 to use the HS5245mg's instead?

I thought the biggest prop you can run on the 4315-714 was the 15X8?

16x8, trust me.

I've run both those servos and prefer the digitals. Not a huge difference though.

Awesome - thanks for the great information! Most of my planes have been nitro or gas, with only a couple of cheapie foamies as the extent of my electric flight experience. There's a lot that I'm trying to wrap my head around in when it comes to electric power plants and their supporting accessories.

I appreciate the guidance!
