Thanks guys!

I cut the shrink, removed the servo and since the epoxy/talc had only cured for 10 hours I was able to remove it like old bubble gum from the sole of a shoe.

Fixed a new servo horn, new shrink wrap and glued it back in. Phew.....

Chipped a small part of the side of the servo bay recession but it will be hidden nicely by the servo cover.

Tonight was the final real building night - from now on there are just minor adjustments, mounting servo covers and then.......waiting for the snow to melt!
60cm of snow and -12C doesn't seem like spring

AUW weighed in at 1,621kg or 3p 9,1oz. Just a tad heavier than I expected.
CG on first try was at 75mm behind LE. Recommended CG is 70-75. Think I will try to move the ESC a little bit further fwd to get CG at 70 and to give more space for the wires. It is a Full House in there with the 5S3000!!!

Thanks for the links but the current $AUD to $US exchange rate is much more attractive than buying in Euros!

I've been looking at this for the last fortnight: http://www.soaringusa.com/products/p...ategory_id=262. Really I need to finish some builds and crash more before I buy another plane!

As for the weather, if we could just average your -20 with our 38, we both might be doing a lot more flying than we currently are.......

Not yet. Might try fixed throttle travel instead of auto detect. I hope to look into it tonight. Have you experienced the same with yours?

I have a Flash II Carbon which is the Enigma with a slightly shorter wing. Plenty of room for big cells in the fuse, and from what I hear one of the strongest wings out there in F5B.

Well you must remember that I went the cheap route and did not set it up like a "hotliner". My setup was direct drive, basically what you would run on a Stryker. 36mm inrunner, 7x7 prop. I started with 4S 4900mah packs and went to a 5S 3300mah pack.

When I increased the cells, I kept the same prop but went from a Phoenix 80 to an Ice 100 controller.

Speed was only around 125mph. I didn't have the thrust needed for speed. Plus the fact that I could not gain good momentum in a dive with a fixed prop.

None the less, it was still my favorite plane. Very fun to fly. The speed did amaze spectators when they saw the size of the prop.

Remember, we are talking about a 65" wing with a 7" prop. It was ridiculous, but a lot cheaper than a gear box, HV125, good 16x17 folder.....etc
