LAHeli Paramotor

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this whole section of RCG, but have recently run into a a new para sail product. Then I look out here and there are rc kites and other wild stuff... Jeez, I've been missing out!

Anyway, looks like there are a lot of people doing home made RC powered para-sails (not sure if that is the right terminology - or if Paramotor is right).

Haven't seen a lot of kits out there, but a LAHeli - a Czech manufacturer just released one. (I work with LAHeli in the US)

Here is their crazy product announcement video (a little dramatic IMHO ):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=Gbk7_Rol8Vk

I attached some images of the new kit. For those of you that are experts here, anything that you see as good or bad. I have not built it yet, so I'm still a newbie. Probably won't get it in the air until spring anyway...

Thoughts?

As I start the build I'll post steps and images....

The stitching on the wing looks good , and nylock nuts are used , Its uses weight shift not brakes , Seems to be a well thought out kit from what I can see here. The vid of flight looks good as well .
How much did the kit cost ? Oh I see it now, 142.oo That may be a little steep . Bring it down to less than 100 and you might have a winner .

Thanks inventing_man...
I got a couple in to feel out the market, under 100 would be under my cost - shipping is a bear from EU - kits are in sizable boxes and there are a number of metal parts, they are not feather light. I was hoping that the convenience of a kit would be worth the cost... (Was worth it to me!)

popad, I have not opened it yet, but some details are here:
http://elektrorc.com/product_info.php?products_id=1397
Motor: 3536/05 series
ESC: 40A
Prop: 9/4
Battery: 3S 2300mAh
Servo: standard metal gear

As soon as I open it up and start building, I'll post more information, pictures, etc.

The sail is 1300mm

I opened the box - decided that I would dye the yellowish fiberglass parts instead of spray paint them. (Shroud around the prop, battery plate, etc. - there are like 4 parts)

Here are some images

Life got in the way - that and winter isn't helping. I fully expect to have it ready for spring though.

Have motors, props and ESC's on the way for an inexpensive build - will offer them as a package.

Got a little into the build this weekend. Everything went very smooth - the only hitch was that my kit had a couple missing M3x18 bolts.
