almost 7 month dead thread, brought back with that question, then followed up with another comment about the vendor on an issue that's how old? Old. Looks like you got an issue with the vendor, why not just say it.

As for your credit card, unless VH is the only one you've used it with, any other entity should be noted in your question, not just them.

I have dealt with the vendor and have not had my credit card compromised. The product I have received has been good, but I can't claim that they are perfect. I have no interest in this except as a customer who some time in the future will place another order wit them.

I'm sure they do, but I'll wait to read it from them.

Hows the investigation going into your credit card number being stolen?

I placed two orders with them. One for a motor & two batteries. Another for an ESC and the PC programming interface. I chose their standard shipping, which apparently is USPS, uninsured, no signature required. So, the mail carrier just leaves the packages on my porch where they're subsequently stolen by some lowlife. Through the e-mails back and forth Value Hobby basically tells me it's my fault and then accuses me of lying & trying to rip them off. They're not willing to do anything for me (not even letting me re-order the items at cost), even though they're clearly at least partially responsible for shipping without insurance and not requiring a signature (neither of which do they mention in the checkout process when picking your shipping option). Steer clear!!!

They should change their slogan to, "We're not happy until you're unhappy."
Thanks for sharing your experience. I personally am steering very clear of Value Hobby.

Any movement on that investigation yet? I believe you said you were going to update the thread (s)

So far I found that its Secure Certificate is valid but its ecommerce software is out of date.

Website: valuehobby.com (hosted by Wiredtree)
Warning: Magento not updated. We recommend version 1.7.0.2.

That's as far a reach as one can take.

Any movement on that investigation yet? What has the credit card company found? Are you 100% sure you didn't use your credit card anywhere else? Seems odd that this would be the only place to have used a card at. Actual proof would be great, not anecdotal. I'll be the first one to stop using them if they played a part in this, but I doubt it.

Well, let the flaming trolls say whatever they want. I've saved huge bucks buying their absolutely stellar, dependable Gforce batteries.

Seems there's some BS flaming agenda going on by some folks at RCgroups ? I just ran into these threads doing a search for value hobby going there to buy ... you guessed it, some batteries, which are often sold out... gee, could it be fear in the hearts of some not-so-honest competitors?

Never had a bad experience with them, never needed support. geeze.

Looks like we'll never hear the end of the stolen credit card story, LonB is no longer a member.
