I am going to build C-27 Spartan/G-222

Hi all, some time ago I wanted to build something like C-130 or Transal and then I saw Aeritalia G-222 (same as C-27 Spartan) - I knew that this plane was the ONE :-) So i prepared plan, and now I would like to know if there is somebody, who has experience with similar projects and could tell me if it is OK or not.
Here is the plan (DWG,DXF): G-222 plan
I was thinking about 2x "400" engines not geared, Elevator and Aileron (Rudder) control etc.
This weekend I started to build prototype from 4mm foam and let me tell you: Wow this is huge :-)
Any idea, opinion and recommendation would be apreciated :-)

Sort of "bump"

I started to build this thing and got few suggestions:

Engines should be geared 2,33/1, acu 8x1700 (min)
controlled rudder and elevator
I have wing and some others parts from 4mm foam prepared and I need to know how heavy they are (no scale available now:-( )

Nice drawing Monty. I'd say you've got a nice projectct there. Much more involved than I was considering for my C-130. No idea about weight, but it will surely be close to 2 pounds. That should be ok for a pair of geared 400's.

Can't wait to see some progress.

Long time no report here :-(
Unfortunately I dont have digital camera to show something, but today I completed wings and fuselage and I need to finnish some minor parts, then depends on weight I will decide about engines and other parts. With 1200mm wingspan and 300g without batteries, servos and engines it could be slowflyer :-)

Is here anybody who has any experience with similar planes? I planned to control Rudder and Elevator, but I heard that combination of Aileron and Elevator would be better. Any sugestion? Thanx

Hi Monty,
It's not a long time that I'm flying but I think that for a parkflyer ailerons are more indicated because they give more manovrability in smaller spaces.
Great plane!!! Keep on like that!
There are any plans?!?!

Regards
Mike Rome

Wow ...today I went out just before sunset. It flies ! I was too nervous to try anything dangerous, so I can say that this plane flies like original - stable and slow...but i was too slow on landing, next time it wil be better :-)
