Have any idea of the weight? Or what does the TP tube weigh? Looks small though! Hope to see more!

I am assuming this is with fan shrouds (I see them), but no electronics. I think that means the paper tube is faily heavy. Paper/cardboard is heavy in small airplanes but can be light on large builds.

So here is a thought, maybe a bit off topic: I went to Lowes to get some closed cell pipe insulation for a home project (wraping pipes actually). There are 2 types. Closed cell looks promising, but not the rubber type.

The closed cell insulation is 6 foot sections, $0.97 cents for the type that fits 1/2" pipe (almost large enough to stuff a 22mm fan into the hole). The 3/4" type is like $1.09. So I weighed a piece, and the whole 6 foot section was like 1 ounce. I figure that enough to make a micro fuselage should weigh 3g to 5g, maybe.

So I don't have time now, but 6 fuselage sections, all under 5g, and about $0.20 cents each. Maybe a bit rough on the outside, but one could cut, carve, and otherwise alter a piece and save even more weight. I wonder if this would weigh less than your cardboard tube???????

The airplane would also bounce off of walls if made from this, almost indestructable.

Freddie, you may be onto something here! never thought of it but a good idea, i still gotta hollow the nose and tail section needs a redesign as its really just a mockup at this point.

I'm gonna holow it out and build a new tail section, the weight should go down a few grams, fingers crossed. I'm also thinking about a hollow depron tube but the tp tubes were handy

That should help a lot. What size Depron will you use? 1mm, 2mm, oe 3mm??? Everyone uses a different way to roll the tube, please share yours if you can get photos too would be cool!
