Hi Roy,

Outstanding job, it was worth the wait. I would be cool to recreate some of the photos of the full scale MB Meteors you gave me. The problem would be stuffing a 65" fuselage into the overhead!.

But really, very fine job on the Meteor you should be very proud. Do you have a final tally on the weight?

I'm very lucky my club has a grass strip which we keep cut very short. Last year it was looking fab, after the club brought in a company professional green keepers to help short out the moss.

I think with all the rain we are having this year, I may have to leave it to dry out for some time before attempting the maiden or fit pontoons!!

Jim I've just done a quick tally of the weights:
Fuzz 3lbs
Wing 4 1/2lbs
Batteries 2lbs
Grand total AUW 9 1/2 lbs or there about.
I hope that sound about right

P.S. what did you finally settle on for the CofG

Hi Roy,

I think you're a little heavier then mine, but not too much. It's been a while since I weighed mine. The C.G. is pretty much as marked on the plan. You're right about the dry grass making a difference.

Dry Grass may be a bit of an issue!

This is the road to the club flying site a couple of days ago, & we've had more rain since.

I hear our site entrance is very wet too - but one of the things with the rain is that is normally comes with high winds so I don't even THINK of going flying!

I imagine you'll not be in too great a hurry to test fly a pristine model until things settle down a bit anyway.

Well it's taken me 3 years (Yes I said I'm not the fastest builder!!) but she ready for her maiden. The last job to complete the main gear doors is now done, & they work

'Private video' Roy! Couldn't watch.

Anyway I hope your maiden flight proves the 3 years time well spent.
At least the awful weather has broken!

What a nice day today, light winds & sunshine. Just the short of day for a test flight.

So indeed after lunch we headed for the field, so far so good. Unfortunately all though not entirely unexpected, the range test came up on the short side. only just 20 paces, so raver than taking any chances we didn't fly today.

How ever we did have some fun doing high speed taxi runs up & down the field. The good news is she accelerates quickly, tracks straight, & best of all all the gear doors stayed in place. So hopefully Jim I will getaway with the 2" nose wheel.

Hi Roy,

Good call on the abort, make sure your radio is tip top for this one. Looks good on the field.

At my old field, you couldn't even see the top of the nose wheel. You should have no problems getting it off the ground.

We still have a foot of snow on the ground, we won't be flying until June at this rate!
