New Horizon Force Micro Heli Battle System!

http://search.horizonhobby.com/index...d=12AD2F9AD364

FHX Heli RTF
MH-35 Heli RTF
Ground Target with team identification capabilities

This looks pretty cool! They have nice base targets for things like CTF and defending a base, etc.

Looks like the MCX platform with a special controller that has a 5th IR gun / gun target channel.

MH-35 Heli RTF
Key Features
New Simplifly control option makes flying easier
ID System for team play
Built in Battle Module sends and recieves infrared signals
Specially designed 5-Channel Battle transmitter
Adjustable firing range evens the odds for newbies and vets
Overview
The Force helicopter battling system is designed to give you an out of the box air-to-air battling experience. The Force MH-35 is an ultra-lightweight, battle-hardened heli perfect for out-maneuvering opponents in tight quarters. Its self-stabilizing characteristics and mil-spec gyro stabilization system keep you rock steady and in complete control, even if you’re a Force rookie. Using our built-in battle module to send and receive infra-red signals that are range adjustable, you get to shoot down your opponent in mid-flight.

Game play, using a newly designed 5 channel custom transmitter, will focus on the themes in either one v one, or team play mode, like dog fights, target practice, and heli v ground. While in battle, the helis will react to being shot by spinning in place, through a system called VDAS, and eventually being grounded by safely powering down.

Needed to Complete
Nothing more needed, everything is included in the box.

"built in battle module" ay? I wonder if it's possible to plug it into my mCX2 or mSR?

Edit, just mCX2, my mSR has no X-port on it. But i wonder if we can use them for our AR6400 boards? Hmmm....

I'm surprised they aren't planning on selling them in pairs. Then again considering the price perhaps it's not so surprising. Sounds like a much more expensive 4 channel heli version of the picoo-z sky challenger helis which do come in pairs. I bought a pair of these a couple of years ago. They're great fun for about 5 minutes

I wonder how much of the logic is in the TX and how much is in the board. My guess is its in the "Battle" TX and that given a Battle TX we could outfit existing MCX, MCX2 (or Tandems?) with the right skills, as they have the IR sensor separate:

and the new battle 5-in-1 (which might be same as MCX2? dave e? anyone from horizon want to comment?)

You can buy the battle module on it's own, plug it into your mCX2 and glue it into the front of your canopy! A lot cheaper

You'll probably need the battle TX for $43 also: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...CE1100#quickMM

That will just be using a 5th channel, so anyone with an LP5DSM or Spektrum/JR Tx is good to go

What about the part where you detect being hit and spin in place, etc? The 5th channel wouldn't have that capability, has to be in the TX.

LOL! That's awesome. If I hadn't just purchased a Novus CX for my sons 5th birthday, I'd would have picked a couple of these up!

Horizon is listing a unique 5-in-1 for the Force helis (pic below). Hard to tell if it's the same as the MCX2 board or not. Also check out the pic of the "combat unit", it's 4 wire which means a 4 pin connector. The Blade MCX2 port on the 5-in-1 is a 3 pin connector (I think? Been a while since I looked at it.) EDIT- I just looked at some pics and the MCX2 5-in-1 does appear to have a 4 pin port where the lights plug in (although it looks to be in a different place on the board than in the picture of the Force 5-in-1 below), maybe this combat unit can be retrofitted to the MCX2, fingers crossed!

That's an X-port connector, maybe it will work with the AR6400? Hmmm......

I love how the video has a bunch of grown men (and one woman) standing in an empty warehouse battling it out. To me this seems like something that would be marketed better at tweens. In fact I'm surprised AirHogs doesn't already have something like this.
