I finished building one for my buddy and flown it couple of times over the weekend.
It has mellow setup. Just enough to stay afloat. Hacker b40-8l on 4s with 15x15.
Very nice plane, retains speed, extremely responsive. Using half of control surfaces travel I am used to on this size plane.
I'll be done with mine by tonight. Making it little faster. B40 FAI carbon with 6.7:1, starting on 4s with 16x16. Plan is to get to 6 or 7s with 12.7x13 on 5 deg yoke.

Nice colors. Remind me what is the kv of B40FAI? What maH capacity 4S will you use? And you mean eventual increase to 6-7S on this same motor?

b40 FAI is 5000kV.
its already mounted in fuse. I used full length of the nose, so heads of the screws are actually breaking the outside lip.
2200mAh
yes on same motor, prop to be determined

Kinda scares me too ,even with small props.
I demagnetized number of Hackers with too much RPM .

My 6L carbon 6,7 died at 4S and 13x15 due to overheating at a much smaller and lighter plane, definitly and only my fault!
My 5L carbon still works fine at 4S and 12x14 but its way over RPM limit.

6L at 7S is 122500 rpm unloaded....... probably more with the lipo size the HV is capable to take..

I guess you guys are right about the rpm's.
I might have to visit my motor drawer
For now it stays in, but I keep it on 4s.

I don't know if I even get to 16/16.
I try it first on 12.75/13.
Closest motor and prop combo I ran is b40 8l +4.4:1 on 4s with 16/17.
Plane is slightly bigger.
Never checked Watts. After 30-40 sec battery is OK, motor close to 190F.
Feels close to 2kW.
