1/6th yamaha rhino project.

for over 2 years ive had a 1/6th rhino 660 literally collecting dust.
back in 06 truckerbuddy started 2 seperate build attempts....but like most of us....never finished.
just today i was looking at how the width of my mid 90's nitro rs4 suits this body well.
they were both dust collectors anyway.
so here we go.....and it will be converted to electric, maybe a old fashioned pede tranny....hardly see those used anymore.
maybe emaxx 2 speed.....who knows where this will go!
for sure a lift kit,tires,wheels,lights....ect.

i got the shaft.
rear shaft is done, front shaft is about half way there.gotta bore an aluminium sleve and thread it to lock the 2 half shafts together.
the front shaft is a traxxas half and a duratrax evader rear shaft with a custom pin made to work on the rs4 diff cup.
i still have to lock the center diff in the vxl tranny, add heavy oil in the rs4 diffs.
fab up a servo mount for steering....ect.

Sweet!

That's plenty fast for styrene bodies. Are you going to light it all up, and accessorize it? Not saying you should... but, I would be tempted to, with that nice of a scale look.

first out door run in the rain.open diffs suck....cant climb anything.gonna lock the rear diff, install something thick in the front.
plus these cc01 tires are crap.only good for lite trail use,and scale use.
so tires are needed, maybe some ebay landy rims and tires.something a lil bigger dia than these.

heres the tire tread im looking at...something atvish.
but these are semi hard plastic.
