Though I hate to judge before all the facts are in, (remember general Turgidson?)
this is truly an outstanding build.

I'm a hack,

As Nemo dumps 30+ inches of snow in my backyard, I used thick CA and glued the first prop together using a homemade jig. The jig uses small nails that get glued right to the prop, then removed later – the series of images are from stacking the prop, rough sanding, medium sanding and 10 (yes 10) coats of thin CA to soak into the wood and seal all the pores and small imperfections in the wood, and to add strength. The last pictures still need a 400 wet sand, a 600 wet sand and brass prop tips before being balanced and coated with 2 coats of satin poly (maybe gloss if it looks right) - the two blades were measured with a micrometer for thickness and chord. Best I can do – I’ll set up a motor and battery to test them in the stand before I use them – If you have never made a prop before – it has to be on your bucket list.

Beautiful work Jon. I'll try out those tricks on the Mercedes prop I have.
