Hi Matt,
Have you tried contacting English Heritage, and asking them for help?
If you offered them photos/video they might be happy to assist? Worth a telephone call if nothing else.

Mat I think the first thing to do is ( I can do this) to get some photos of its position, then I can use my y6 to drop a line with a hook or a big magnet on to it then someone can pull it down,

This is a flight I did
FPV WHO IS WATCHING WHO (8 min 23 sec)

Which will not be much different,
Saturday once the weather is ok we can try that, what you think

new idea: point out to the fire brigade that there is a big LiPo pack on your quad that may explode or burn if it gets wet. Perhaps they might like to try a bit harder to get it now, rather than try to put a fire out at a place they can't get to easily...

Camera Gimble on KK2

Just a quick gimble test on the KK2 1.5fw and cheap servos

Camera Gimble + KK2 1.5FW (0 min 21 sec)

Bear in mind the test was with the gimble and GoPro held on loosely with masking tape.

Now I didn't bother with a gimble for my quad but maybe after testing at the weekend I'll look into some.

Where to start

Ok, I've succumbed, they look too much fun, I've always been a dyed in the wool fixed wing/heli flyer - but I 'need' a quad/multi

What might be a good first machine to aim for?

One of these would be a great starting point.

I'm just waiting for my orange Rx before I clean up the Rx cables.

It's the black and white machine.

In my opinion, a cheap 450 frame from HK, the Turnigy motors are cheap, the plush ESC are highly recommended although ive flown with the red bricks, which did the job, and KK2, =]

for about 15 from HK for gimble, servos and wires, good enough for a laugh!

Thanks - Thats a fine looking white case...

One of these I guess, is this what you referred to Dodge? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ame_450mm.html

The frames look like nylon, I assume that flex isn't an issue?

Wouldn't the simplest method rather than sending up Heavy lifter multis that will crash and burn just send up a very cheap quad with basic video, (we all have this stuff kicking about)
Fly it up there with a kite line attached and a few large treble fish hooks hanging underneath.
Land the small quad on top and pull.

Yeh the SK450 or Q450, ive had a few tumbles with the Q and it lasted =P
The SK to me seems to have a little more flex,
