My point exactly. This would change the thread ware rating, load, temp and yet could still be within the same construct matterials, specs, and process.

I seen 26's once on a 1968 Chevy Chevelle....Oh...that reminds me, increased ground clearence.... Decreased checking account.

He did NOT marry her to find out how long it takes to go 80 miles at 80mph.

The confusion women have is they are always being told stuff like 6" is 9" (or 12") and 5 minutes is 30 minutes and stuff.

I was thinking the specs would be the same tread wear, temp, load rating, traction, etc.

We are about to get a big thunderstorm.

Thought it was funny. She was talking about tire sizes and revolutions so I thought it might fit in here in a twisted sort of way.

All things being equal, then it would. (last longer)

Cant believe no one has mentioned gaurantees. They used to be 25000 or so. Never saw one over 45000. Nowadays you see them for 60000 and better. Thats why.

Trucks are generally heavier...also why.

Around 1980 (when I was sellin cars) I always sold rustproofing on Vettes. The buyer thought I was crazy till I showed him the weight. Only thing heavier was a Caprice Wagon (never failed)

D.O.G.....thats not a Chevelle....Thats a HotWheels

I work for a tire wholesale company. I know a lot about tires. Larger diameter does not equal longer wear generally speaking. Most of the large diameter low profile stuff is a more performance oriented rubber compounding developed more for traction, and not for longevity. It also can severely impact fuel economy, through rolling resistance. Most of the new 20inch and larger stuff is also wider, more contact patch = better traction and handling, and less MPG. You have to compromise with tires, pick the best one suited for you application and be happy. Or the one that looks cool, and dont complain
