Post a link to your club field with addess & Picture

Here is a cool idea... Maybe people could post a picture up of their club field, a link to their website, and a addess. Pleanty of people around travel and look for a spot to fly at while in the town they are visiting.

Where else buddy, you've seen me post all over the Chandler Bowl thread! Good to see you brought some life in there! Speaking of pictures, I was waiting to post one of CB until the runway was installed. I better dig one up and post it in here.

That would be good for the out-out-owners, we love to see new faces!

Flying sites in northern Utah

I maintain a list of flying sites in Utah. It's growing, well, pretty much daily, since it doesn't look like anybody's ever really tracked this before.

Diablo Valley Radio Controllers

http://www.dvrc.org/

Nestled in it's own valley in the foothills of Pittsburg Ca. is the home field of the Diablo Valley Radio Controllers. We named the field after one of our members fathers Thomas C. Allen, who in 1932 along with Herman Banning were the first black aviators to fly across the USA. You may have seen a few pictures of our field in the article in the March 2006 Model Aviation.

Our property is formally known as Army Base Camp Stoneman Rifle Range. We've managed to negotiate a long term lease on 243 acres that includes flatlands and hills and a 1700 sq. ft. clubhouse with a covered veranda that sits up on a bluff overlooking the flying plateau. Over the past five years we've managed to install a 500' X 40' paved runway, a 125' long shade pavillion, a complete brand new permitted septic tank and water system, and three real bathrooms with handicap accessability! I just put the finishing touches on the last of the bathrooms this afternoon. This was all done with member labor and club money along with numerous donations. Tomorrow the outhouses get towed off into the boonies, YEAAAHH!!

Tomorrow morning we have invited the public out to our field to try our airplanes. We call this "Newbie Day" and so far there has been terrific responce. We have five buddy boxed trainers fueled up and ready to use. All of the clubs Flight Instructors have volunteered to be there. We also have three planes rigged up to do a "Candy Drop" for the kids. This always proves to be a big hit. At noon there will be a BBQ. All of this is free of charge and everyone is welcome. If you can't make it tomorrow come on out anytime.
