I see that you are using heavy cloths, they won't make the curves very well,
do you put some epoxy mass (resin + microbaloon) on the small edges of the fuse before start laminating? I use this technique to avoid bubbles on the skin.

Hi Andre.
Yes ....I use a epoxy product designed for glueing helicopter blade together. It much better the micro balloon mix as it is so much stronger...and doesnt chip easy.
I just forgot to put it in..Anyway is almost perfect , just 2 small bubbles on one Side of the saddle and 2 on the tail....
The way I build my fuses , doesn't really allow to get to many bubbles.
Paint , then lay up with 2oz cloth...let it harden a little. Then a layer of 4oz ( both glass). When that goes hard..I trim to the flange.
This give you a perfect seam....and then you lay up the rest ,add balloon expand it and wait for tomorrow..

for stronger mass I use silica powder, we call it aerosil.

Well it a waiting game now...

Yestrday I layed up a VERY heavy WH60.. Plenty of carbon...and I mean plenty....
I made special note of making the control surface strength.. I used 2x 100g carbon top and bottom , and included 6mm , 8oz carbon sock spar, and filled with F230.
a special note , doubled the amount of carbon in the main spar caps.
I was worried I would have to sand them to fit it together. but on a pre-clamp together found it shut fine. although I think the gap between is about 2mm or so.
It's all filled with F230 , and I ran a thick dryish mix of cotton flox mix along the spar as it is a bit harder than F230.

I'm aiming for this wing to be close to 1.8kg.. I need it to be 3kg+ RTF also have 870g of ballast to bring the weight up to around 50 oz/ft loading.

It's post curing ATM , at 50'c I can demold @ about 5pm today..

Well came out very nice NOT perfect but very good.....absolutely incredibly strong..love the paint job.
The only problem was just the centre 250mm of the LE pushed F230 out. And some how I don't know , made the LE join a little wide. Other than that its great.

I forgot to add the spars and caps and resin for them to my weight estimate
It came out @ 2.3kg for the wing perfect.
And it feels like a wing tip of ezza's kinetic. Wing and fuse dry weight is 2.6kg.
And I think it will be RTF around 3.2 kg that's perfect , right where I want it to be.
OH forgot add the 870g of ballast and you get out of the way when I'm landing..
