For u guys who have been to this event how close are hotels and where can I find directions? Some of the guys from our field and myself plan on making the trip and were really excited. Four guys on a road trip feels like the good old days

Last year we stayed at the Ramada, just down the street from the Four Seasons Golf Center where the Fest is held. Decent hotel, seemed to be the RC hotel of choice as we ran into many of the vendors during the complemtary Sunday AM breakfast. The hotel is: 4801 East Broad StreetColumbus, OH 43213
(614) 861-0321.

The 4 Seasons is pretty simple to get to also, take the East Broad Street exit heading west into Columbus off 270 and its just a couple miles down on the right.

We'll be there again this year for sure!

The Ramada listed on the event page is where I've always stayed. It is just up the road from the dome and I doubt you'll beat the special rate.

The internet travel and hotel sites are fine for locating various hotels, but I've always gotten better rates and room availability by calling the hotel directly and booking over the phone.

We have always stayed at the Ramada Inn but after last year we choose another hotel. We are now staying at the Country Inn which is on the same road just the opposite direct from the dome as the Ramada.

Why the change?

The Ramada just keep going down hill. Last year our room was very unclean and falling apart. The bathroom was really bad. Then the guy behind the counter was trying to cheat me out of the discount rate for JR Fest just because he didn't know how to enter it in the computer, I had to get pissed and demand to talk to a manager to get my discount. That was the last straw.

That sucks.

I was just wondering if it had anything to do with the glass door that was shattered early Friday morning last year.

no, we saw that but never heard what really happened.

The breakfast attendant didn't provide any info when I inquired, and she surely has the gift of gab

The special rate is right for me. I've stayed at some pretty "fleabag" hotels in the past and a bit of disrepair doesn't bother me @ $65/night. As long as it passes my bed bug inspection at check-in...if I brought them home, I doubt my wife would wake me up before she torched the house

We have been staying at the Comfort Suites, 70 Chris Perry Lane on East Broad St. only a mile or so away and pretty new. 614-604-6400. Heard the stories about the Rammit-inn.

I've stayed at the Ramada every year, but last year was the last time for me also, staying at LaQuinta this year. Broken door, keys hardly work in either the room or the entry doors. People with nothing else to do hanging around at the back door made me uncomfortable more than once.
