Looks like I should have done a bit of a search- http://pgrpages.com/slopes/bluff-park/

This should get me in the ballpark.

It's in between these two. I don't know which one is more representative yet.

Wind Alert

George,
Wind Alert gives you general idea of what's going on at the Bluffs. http://www.windalert.com/map#33.775,-118.21,12,1. It generally shows the correct wind direction at the Bluffs (the direction indicator is on the Belmont Shores Pier), and the wind speed out at the Long Beach harbor edge directly South of the Bluffs sort of indicates what's up speed wise. If it is above 15 it is flyable for sure, and at 18+ it is getting very good, 12+ at the beach. Of course it can all change either way at any time.....

Wow, worried about a cross valley drive! Heck, I drove from Vegas to Lake Isabella and down to Narco and back to Vegas without even getting a flight in. Talk about getting skunked; besides where is your sense of adventure?

What up Vegas Don?

Good point LVSloper, I flew thermal at Costa Mesa yesterday morning, great lift, and then flew slope at the Bluffs in the afternoon, all within 30 miles. What more can you ask for? Now that that the winter lull is over the Bluffs are getting better all the time.
I drove into Vegas last Sunday afternoon and it was blowing good for Mt Potosi and Jean slopes, figured you might be out there.
Don
I should add though, that if you hit the traffic wrong, any drive into LA, like George from the Santa Barbara area, can be a long, long day. I used to think the traffic in Las Vegas was getting bad but LA wins.
