1/32 General Lee
I've always been thinking about converting slot cars into RC cars, as I love that small size, and there are plenty of bodies to choose. Some German folks did a great job offering high tech chassis for this purpose but a little bit priced in my opinion (link-use the translate button). So that it has been quite a good news for me to know about the release of the WL Toys 939, so low priced and fully proportional. I have rushed into my LHS to buy mine and after a short test ride in stock condition I have tried my hand doing the Scalextric Dodge Charger "General Lee" conversion to an RC car.
The result has been good enough for me, considering the no-diff rear axle and the not so pretty body mounts, but it has been a just one evening build, that's the reason of the coarse detailing of the parts. I promise to take a second chance and refine a little this design using more aluminium parts and more slot car components.
By the way: it drives great.
