Hey Barry.
Dan said they will be out early Jan so looks like they will take time out for Xmas and then pump then on out from there.

I'll probably just sit there and look at it for the first week.

I dare say mine will have travelled the longest distance to anywheres as well. I am the only one down these parts to be doing a BIG EDF project ie the VIGGEN as far as I am aware.

What kind of thrust can one expect from this fan (or do we just not know yet)?

In the 18lb range about the same as a Jetcat P80 turbine.

Hi Sluf7,
notice that the first graph is a 2250, the second is a 2280. There is a considerable weight difference between the two

I'll be using the 2250 in the P-80, and two of the 2280 in the upcoming monster...
On windings I'm not sure yet, probably 12s on the 2250 and up to 14s on the 2280, to keep the current below 90A.

Cheers,
RD

I see the 90mm sell's for around $290 for the CF one, don't know if the 120mm will be CF only? Maybe Dieter can confirm the pricing since he is the importer?

I imagine the total power system won't be cheap, probably less then a turbine but not by much. With Lipoly's coming down in price, I'm thinking a future project down the road and hopefully a large selection of ARF's like what is available to the turbine crowd currently.

docmike, for a foam model, the DS51-DIA glass version will suffice; it costs $185.
mode101, the DS94-DIA-3ph will be available in carbon fiber only. Given the current exchange rate, cost will be $345.
Is anyone looking at BVM's Mig-15 to be powered with this fan?

I was working out a Mig-15 in Cad for mine. Was going to try out a slightly smaller than BVM version but built up. Should be able to finalize the parts to run on my CNC by late Jan or so. I was going slower on it to see when the fan would be here.

Think I'll head over to BVM and check that out. I'd love to do a "big jet" like that!!
