4 CH 2.4GHz BlitzRCWorks Golden Contra Flybarless

4 CH 2.4GHz BlitzRCWorks Golden Contra Flybarless $140 March 2012
Cute 17.3 inch rotor diameter (my DH9104 is 21 inches)
Brushed motors, main and tail. (brushless would be better).

Hmm looks like a nice little toy and seems to fly well from the video, granted the dude flying it does know what he's doing.

I'll have to keep this little heli in mind but it does say it will not be shipping for about another 2 months or so.

They should make a movie of me flying that thing. A real beginner showing a real beginner crash flight test.

I like the way technology allows for a simple rotor and less parts to brake.

And the high 3 tail blade isn't a weed wacker.

If you haven't bought it yet, don't. It's a rebadged Walkera V200D02. (All Blitzworks helis are rebadged older Walkera models). It was originally the CB180D, but they had lots of problems with it, especially the tail drive system. It had way too much friction, the motor got too hot and burned out and it drew too many amps. Most people replaced the tail assembly with a direct drive tail motor from Extreme or an HBCT. It also had a 45 offset flybar that gave poor movement authority and often conflicted with the 3 axis gyro.

Walkera always tries to use up old stock, so they keep the rest of the heli and replaced the crappy head and called it V200D02. They didn't fool anyone. They couldn't give it away with that tail drive. So, they licensed it to Banana Hobby.

If you have already purchased it, find the tail upgrade. It will significantly improve performance and reliability. It doesn't have the best gyro either, so you might consider an upgrade.

Thanks Balr - No I just like to look at the flybarless rotors.

I understand that the 3G gyros are servo eaters with all the fast attitude corrections - constant servo movement wears servos out quickly.
