Looking for a new float plane for the camping season

I'm heading out camping with the family again this summer and I'm looking for a gentle bird on floats. I've flown GWS beavers with floats, worked great, was thinking of getting a Estarter on floats still unsure. I'd like it to be foam, but I'm ok with a balsa ARTF. I've been grounded for about a month, my wattage Sabre glitched and became a lawn dart, so i've got a clean beanch and about 3 weeks to maiden something.

Anyone have any links or suggestions? I'm all ears.

Many here have done the estarter on floats and the beaver. Go to the ultimate Estarter thread and see how they did it.

Try a Tiger Moth 400 on floats. Very easy to set up. Great airplane, and looks great over the lake!

Or try something really different and build a CargoTrans on FoamFloats.

a depron Twinkle?...

Some guy (qy8flyer) has already made a depron version from my plans, and another foam Twinkle exists out there. I'm about half way through finishing the plans for a depron version, with modified depron version instructions.

Here's how groovy a depTwinkle can be (qy8flyer's)...

The problem I have when taking an airplane on camping trips it the damage during transport. I foung that the Slow Stick works well on long trips. With 5 min epoxy and packing tape, you can keep it flying through just about anything. I probabally shouldn't tell you this, but I even put the prop back together with epoxy. Another thing is that it is almost disposable. Keep the kit in the box for easy transport, once you get to your destination put it together, then when you leave scrap it. I would take an airplane with me that I would not miss if something happened. The ice chest dosn't have to shift much to total a balsa wing.

But then again if you have plenty of space (like an RV) you could take just about anything.
