Sony action cam - Fog/ fumes ..inside

Hi
First time.
Took the bird up morning time today
Warm out ..not to bad..
Landed on the grass ...small "cold " water drops from the night were all over.
Few were on the camera lenss.
Wipe all out..camera OK
Still after 10 min camera lenss Was coverd inside.. with water fumes.
Not to bad but can not AV!
Took mor then 1 hour ..camera direct in the sun to dry all fumes inside the lenss
Camera now works great..
Still need not to land on wet cold grass after camera in air

Hi jim
No..! i was not using the housing
For mounting on the top bixler..I do not think i need the mounting
AS for weight and size.
Just i think that in use.. the camera gets slightly heated and cold drops on the front lenss
Will cause fumes on the lenss inside!
Keep the camera outside for few minuts so the lenss will get cool before the camera function .

any way..after some time out in the sun..it came back to normal status.
I landed on wet cool grass and few cold water drop on the lenss as it was light warm Inside
Made it!!

Condensation inside equipment is usually caused by taking cold kit into a warm environment, if you ensure the kit is warmer than where your going to use it before you start you should be fine.

You are probebly right!!
Out there up it was warm and sunny
Probebly the camera at home / car was cooler
so next time as you wrote
Just slightly warm up the camera ( air heat inside the car) so all would be fine
Tx..Guy

The best results I've had in keeping the condensation from forming inside my GoPro's case is by flushing the camera and open case in the stream of air conditioning on my car as I seal up the case. This provides a good source of dry air.

If I don't do it, the camera case is chilled at high altitude and develops condensation on the inside of the lens cover.

Would using the desiccant bags that come with a lot of the stuff we buy inside the waterproof case help with that kind of condensation?

For the GoPro, there really isn't room. There are specially designed desiccant strips available that fit between the case and sides of the camera, and they can be dried and reused a limited number of times. I haven't bothered with them since I've always had access to either a window A/C unit or auto A/C vents.
