You expect too much.

Cheap is expensive ... if you don't pay in $, then you pay in smaller stock and longer re-stocking time

I made my 2nd order in HK DE Warehouse ... damn it ... the Warehouse in China is much faster ... after 4 day from order (all items on stocks), just today the status is changed in "ready for packing" ... also last time it took ages for get my order .... two order on the same day, and the goods from China did arrive earlier then from Germany

Anyhow ... I'm a cheap guy ... so prefer to pay with some extra delay then with cash

I order a F-14 twing .. with folding wings ... ... sound cool ... plus some other "toys" ... up to 10kg (I did 9.6kg order), only 20$ in shipping costs

I had it preordered for a month.. I don't want my money be in there cashiers and taken advantage for other reasons than the ones paid. so I cancelled it. 1 month preorder is too long.. 3 months out of stock is longer and inexcusable for something that went off stock in 2 days.
it means it sells.. it means you need to restock

Seeing as it's going to rain here this evening I guess I will swap out the 5400 for the 4000. I have the older 4000, how is the 4400 for this fan?

It is just plain biznes

Probably they never had on stock, or better never in their warehouse. Once they have enough pre-order, they call for a delivery from producer, and they sell on the spot, without any cost for warehouse ...

Anyhow, was 2 days on stock .. your fault you have not been fast enough

Personally, I'm fine with this "games" for reduce the costs inside HK (and for their customers) ... better this then compromise the quality

ps: Actually they could also same some money, not sponsoring the two morrons in FliteTest ... this is a total waste of money ... but maybe these are good for get HK money from other morrons, tha'ts also biznes ... on the other side ... I like the 3D Fly instruction that are sponsoring over they HobbyKingLive with a profi pilot.

Well the delivery guy came and brought me the stinger.

I put it together in less then 20 minutes.

Completely stock for now im going to test it.

But damm this thing makes a hard noise.......not possible to get a nice whoooooshhhh out of this stock motor and fan.

I will probably fly with this bird completely stock untill i get bored of it and then put the cyclone motor and fan in it on 4s

Hi all, I just wanted to chime and and tell about another setup that is light but powerful. I used the stock fan and the Turnigy 2815 4800kv motor and a 55amp esc togheter with a nanotech 3cell lipo. This gives about 1,2:1 or 750grams thrust and this combo scoots along pretty good and quite a bit faster than the stock setup. It uses about 40amps and it gives ca 550watts with a fresh battery.

Well i went out and did the maiden of the stinger.
I cant say im over excited but im not dissapointed either.
The plane just fly perfect balanced and perfect trimmed out of the box.
Nothing is needed to trim or so.
3 cell 2800mah and stock setup gives it around 4.30min flight time. (this is with high speed passes / loops and rolls and some slow flight)

Launching is pretty easy and it goes up in the air easely.
I used 65% D/R and 30% expo.
The noise of the fan is pretty loud and no whooosh at all like i expected.
Roll rate is awesome fast.

Overall stock performance is ok but nothing spectacular.
But untill i get another cyclone motor here i will keep using the stock one. (other cyclone is already in the T-45)
I was expecting atleast 5 to 6 minutes flight time with the 2800mah 3cell but that failed also.
I flew it also with a 2200mah 3cell and got the same 4.30min flight time out of it.
So the heavyer batterly does not give u really longer flighttimes.

A flight video is following very shortly as its being prepared now.

hi iceman3

i am new in the forum and immediately have some questions.

are there any mechanical modifications necessary ( additional parts ... ) changing to the motor to Turnigy 2815 4800kv or is it comatible to the stock motor ?

thanks

Hi wilfried and welcome to the RC Group forum. The motor fits straight on the 3mm shaft but you need a new Esc of more than 40amps.
