Can't believe the 537 is still around. Mine lasted like a week, the thimble swash and coil & magnet control mechanism doesn't work well at all. But cannot deny it is a 4ch for under $42.

heh today at my local hobby shop I saw they had the S800g priced at $58

Hope nobody buys it then checks Amazon....

AFAIK there isn't another 4-ch coax that can touch the S800g for anywhere near this price, or?

Perhaps the only rival to the S800G is the Drift King at this time.

Ack. Can you guys remind me which mode these helis use and whether they can be switched? Is the Drift King mode 2 and the S800g mode 4?

S800G is mode 4, although some people mod the circuit board to make it mode 2.

Drift King is mode 4 by default, but it is Tx configurable between mode 2 and mode 4.

Win!!!

I'll go dig through the RCG thread for the 800 to find the instructions.

I wanna find something cheap to bring to work so I can try to get my co-workers hooked on the hobby.

Robo, one of my big complaints of the S800G, which ultimately caused me to pass on it was that it uses a smaller Tx, with very short stick. If you have tried the S110G, you would know what I mean. As a result, flying is not as easy as the other Syma models.

IMHO, to get a newbie started on helicopter flying, there is nothing more attractive than the Syma S107 or S108. Both of them are equally good flyer, affordable, and super easy to learn. When I introduce them to newbies, most of them learn the basic operations in less than 5 minutes. That 4th channel might confuse them more than help them. Just my 2.

Yeah, I've got the S110G. I don't mind the TX so much, actually. I've also got my fleet of S107Gs that I can bring in. I've wanted to try out these low cost 4ch helis for a while but couldn't think of a good reason to get them until now. I'd prefer leaving my more expensive models at home and let folks try these out since they're so inexpensive to replace if they get too bashed up.

I see, if you already have the S110G and S107G, and just want to get the S800G for trying, I'd say go for it. The admission fees is quite little.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

HCW-537, again!

Currently at $24.99!

Had bought one about 2 months ago at the special price but there was a shipping snafu which took 6 weeks . Have been thinking of purchasing another one but so far am resisting the temptation!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
