First flight report

This evening, 3 batteries and WOW, this is my first 3d plane and this is way different from warbirds and strykers!
I LIKE It!

Omega 130g,
3s 2200mAh 40c batteries
2 solar A107's on the main wings
2 Emax 12g ES08MA Metal Gear Sub Micro Servo on the rudder and elevator
DX8 radio

Started out on low rates 0 35/40%, it flew like a PZ corsair, for trimming, just a couple of clicks of right rudder
After trimming I went to rates 2 70/50% and started doing loops and KE's and loved it, did a few touch and goes, then 3 take off's and full landings

Sat down on the truck and thought about the flight then popped in another battery and did almost the same flight

Sat down thought about it some more, then popped in another battery and took off, set it on rates 2 115/70% and just flew hard and fast, just yanking and banking, man, I know exactly what I will be doing right after work tomorrow!!!!

I like this plane!!

Has anyone flown this on 1600mah packs? If so, how long did you set your timer?
Also, has anyone used the corona 929mgs on this?

You might have a hard time with CG cause the batteries are too light.

I just added a little fiberglass tape and epoxy to support both the landing gear box and the firewall. Its much stronger than a ply doubler.

I Sky 1800s in addition to my Gens Ace 2200s. (I think the Skys weigh the same as the Gens Ace 1550s. No problems with cg but my flight times are 4 minutes tops. Seems like I lost about 30 seconds or more when i switched to digitals.

I seem to prefer the 2200s.

I have used the 929mgs on mine for aprox 200 flights. They seem OK, but I'm switching them out with Hitec 65mg this weekend just to see the difference.

dont fly on 1600's. HK 2200's are 9 bucks you cant beat it plus the cg is perfect with those and it is very floaty yet very snapy still.

I'm about to throw in the trash a complete set of wing, without the SFG. Both wings are in good condition. Free just pay parcel post postage ... approximately $10 to $15 from the west coast to the east coast.

I found our that my son has a Contour Helmet Cam in HD. Very compact cylinder shaped video camera. Guess what will be strapped to the top of my Extra next week for flying?

I'm going simple - just some painters tape wrapped around the camera and whole fuselage since I don't want to attach it to the canopy and risk the canopy flying off.

Now I just need some good weather - looks like high winds the next few days but may be able to sneak in a flight or two one morning before the winds come up.

If they can manage the amps then you should be able to fly it for 3:50 or 4 minutes.
I fly my 1800's for 4:30, HARD! Not like full throttle banking and yanking hard. But lots of ups and downs with the throttle doing rolling loops and circles as well as fast lines and slow rolls. They take back 1200 mah at the most if I really beat on it and get discharged down to 3.78 volts per cell.
I use the recommended Hitec 65-MG's on mine. They are a little slow and dimwitted but so is the airplane, it being epp and all floppy and stuff.
