Your flights continue to improve, looking good.
I think I am going to invest in another battery charger to shorten time between flights. Charging these big packs 6 cell at a time is killing me.
Oh man, you don't even want to know. I'm behind on uploads
I'm actually up to Flight 183 i think.
I just bought a new charger not long ago. I found a killer deal on a 10S charger. It is actually a legit clone (licensed) of the iCharger 3010B 1000W 10s Balance/Charger
. But it's about $25-$50 cheaper. It's the Voltz 101k 1000W 10S charger
. Since they ship for free it's much cheaper than getting a 3010B in most cases. Especially compared to HK's ridiculous domestic shipping prices.
This week i put in a rather large order for 6S lipos which should be all the batteries i need for this winter season. I bought two Gens Ace 5300 mAh 45C packs from gensaceusa. I figure i need to at least try them, even though they cost about $254 for a set and that is $50 or so dollars more than the 5000 mAh 45C Nano packs +shipping (gensaceusa has free shipping over $100). I also bought 3, 4000 mAh 35C Nano packs for my X5. Hopefully these will last MUCH longer than my last two. I think i over ran them when i was using them in my X7 and it must have degraded the packs running so hot. I hope.
So i figured the only way to know if these more expensive Gens Ace packs are as good as the Turnigy and Nano packs i have been buying for less is to try them. One thing is for sure. I can't see paying high dollar for Hyperion, Pulse or other big hype name brands if they don't last more cycles or output more power throughout their life. At least Gens Ace just happens to be a bit cheaper than those brands and has a good reputation with pros. But i feel the same thing goes for all the hype around 65C packs. I assume 65C packs will degrade slower and be capable of outputting more power as they come into old age because their initial internal resistance starts off lower i think. But honestly i just can't understand how if someone like me can't justify the need for 65C packs. How does someone that just hovers about and does FFF and stuff like that justify it? I guess it's just all marketing hype and influence. Or maybe 65C packs are THAT much better and i just have refused to spend the money to find out. All i know for sure is that my 5000 and 5300 mAh packs are damn heavy at 35 and 45 C. Going to 65C adds over 100g each pack. There has to be a threshold somewhere, where the added discharge can't help you anymore but the added weight CAN hurt your performance, right?
