Where are the Spektrum receivers?

Recently, I've been having trouble finding the AR6000 Spektrum receiver at my LHS, and even the next LHS, and so on. Seems noone has it- their all backordered. I have the DX6, had it for months, love it, convinced my buddy to buy one. He bought the DX7, and we both want to purchase the small parkflyer receivers for our small planes, but can't seem to find any. Horizon Hobby keeps pushing back the arrival date, all my queries seem to come back to Horizon. Anybody having trouble finding these things? Anybody know a shop with some in stock I can maybe buy some from?

I suspect every boat they have put them on over the last few months has sunk without a trace.

I've been waiting for a couple of AR6100s from Horizon for more than a month.

I was just at the Horizon site: http://www.horizonhobby.com/ and I see everything DX7 and DX6 related is back-ordered. I heard from them they were having trouble with their supplier on the AR6000. Now perhaps on everything?? Or perhaps just too much success with the DX7 to be able to keep up with the demand.

The AR7000 in which I was interested is still listed as available -- at least as of this time.

Yeah, there are 7000s in the LHS and some of the online places. 6000s are as rare now as hen's teeth. Maybe the plastic factory is too busy pumping out cases for Jim Drew's XPS stuff?

My card was charged the other day for the two AR6100s I ordered so I guess they're on the way.

People have been buying them in quantities that the mfgr never imagined, so therefore didn't gear production accordingly. My LHS sells out in a day or two after getting his batch in.

OT: I tried to buy a CX2 heli the other day. LHS is sold out and has six dozen (72!) on order and the guy said they are almost all spoken for. So it is not only 2.4 rxes , but related products.

This is the BR6000, It will work just fine with the added benefit of fail safe on all channels. They also have AR6000 in stock.

They look to be readily available. I hope this helps.

Anyone know if there are plans to modify the 6100 to work with the DX6? I have some small apps I would like to use them in, but don't wish to move to the DX7 yet...
