You will have to do a repaint of the FMS P51B.

Or look for a Flying Styro Kit.

The repaint is half the fun ( at least for me ). Your model then stands out at the field. It's your own.

Somehow I ended up with two autographed copies of bud Anderson's book " to fly and fight"
Both hard cover and in perfect new condition with dust jacket.
I only need one!
PM me if interested

laroy, as far as paint is concerned I've used Tamiya and Testors Modelmasters with no problem also Krylon paints. Just be careful when spraying uncoated foam as to much propellant from the spray can eat the foam.
I usually fiberglass my models. I've also coated the foam with waterbased polyurthane ( brushed on and sanded ) with good results.

When you fiberglass a foamie, does it feel like a balsa plane afterward ? I suppose you add quite some extra weight to it

Is it complex to fiber glass a foamie ?

There is weight gain but I try to keep it to a minimum. I remove the original paint before starting. What adds weight is the filler used to fill the weave of the glass. Fiber glassing for me is more for surface prep for painting then for strength. It protects some, but not a lot. You still have to be careful with it.
I don't find glassing to be that difficult.

Thanks for all the advice and info. I bought the Dallas Darling but liked it too much, so I bought the Shangrila and used it. Looking good so far or at least I am very proud of it so far.
