Someone needs to start molding some covers, maybe Darthdrk would be interested in turning some of the scrap around the edges of his copter bodies into useful pieces. I'll bet he could turn out more than 4 with any single copter body mold and it would be essentially free money since that area would otherwise be waste in the trash.

Making molded covers will not be a problem. Also can make the aerodynamic to cut down drag. I do have the capability to make all kinds of vac formed parts large and small quantities. All i would need is some specs in most cases and could even work off drawings and sketches. I could be contacted at Darthdrk@juno.com

My covers are extremely aerodynamic. I made them from the servo cover the servo's come with. They are almost perfect right from the package. Just have to trim a little on the one to clear the servo rod to the horn. No biggy. Lee

I had an accident due to some wind and ended up busting the wing. The new wings don't come with the little foam strips the servos sit up on...My fiance has some little self adhesive foam squares I can cut to the right size but they are quite a bit thicker...

Any ideas? PZ should really include those little foam mounts with the darned wings!

DuBro make some pretty thin foam tape, if you've got a hobby or craft store around you. Comes in little squares, just cut off what you need.

Yes, it's sticky on both sides, forgot to say that.

I was wondering about making the covers hinged somehow so you could have access to the servo to clean it.

What about attaching the covers with very thin velcro? The velcro that Horizon uses on the batteries and the fuselages may work.
I would imagine it would only take a very small amount.

My son tried this with his champ, midair his wing came off. I don't think it would be a good idea, unless they are small, yet lite too.

Well they shouldn't trap air like a wing does. The Beast uses a little magnet, right? Either way, what servos?

In case you didn't spot it, the control horns are painted, rods painted, wiring painted and re-taped, and the naked foam the servos are glued to are painted. All the control horns are painted to hide, rudder and elevator rods are painted to match the side of the fuselage. Pretty her up some. Oh, and the opposing side of the aileron servos that are on the top of the wing, painted to match the top of the wing. Booyah.

I painted the horns on my Champ orange as well. And then did what I'd planned to with the top. Champ's got battle damage that I don't plan to replace, only fix. That wing is on with Beacon Foam Tac, a product I'll advertise all day.

If you deflect them up (spoilerons), it should allow for slower flight.

If you deflect them down, I would think they would just cause a tip stall.

On my Mosquito, I deflect them up about 30% and it slows way down. Wing rock goes away and its stable at high alpha.

It should help the corsair slow down, too.
