Go full screen and look closely. The airplane is tied down. it goes up vertically because the ropes restrain it. once the ropes break it blowas backwards.

Don,

I don't play with my lathe enough. It sits in garage and collects dust too much. I swear I can hear it calling me sometimes.

I was tinkering, but finished just in time for dinner. I'll get some pics, soon.

I wonder if it's instinct or conditioning?

It's usually because I'm the one who cooks it.

I finally took a few pics of what I've been fiddling with.

I made the wing tip light housing from sheet aluminum, and a balsa core.

I placed a raised ring around the landing light housing to simulate a retainer band, that was commonly in use during the period.

Lift handles were added to the rear fuselage sides.

The 3 views showed a thing called an "Emergency Skid" so I added that, too.

I have a poor picture of something mounted just below the instrument panel. I faked it.

I just got caught up on the last three pages being as I was absent.
I am so totally confused!!!
On another thread Tom told me he was impressed by my metal work, had to be sarcasm because what he is doing with this one is leaps and bounds beyond me.
Very nice Tom!!!
