Description:

Hi guys,
I've got an old Neos DLG that I've had lying around for quite a while now collecting dust. Don't live in the best location for DLG anymore, however I still wanna get it back up in the air. I want to attempt an electric conversion of this.

Such a wealth of knowledge on this forum, so though I'd try and pick all your brains for a bit before I started!

As you can see from the pictures the nose shape is pretty flat, was wondering if I could get some opinions from you guys on the best way to get a motor in there?

I was thinking maybe chopping part of the nose off and "attempting to mould a new one. Or Frankenstein a motor in their somehow and then create a small carbon shroud for aerodynamic purposes.

I'm thinking of using a emax CF822 out runner motor ( or the hobbyking equivalent FC 28-22)

Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Alex

ahunter, You might want to read is thread they use a small pod with a 11mm motor and 3x3 prop, I believe it would be easier to balance this way, A motor in the nose? You would have to cut the nose back quite a-bit on that fuse to get it to balance, And you don't have much their to start with your canopy is right there. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...r#post24762249

I'm about to install one of these little Hackers in my Q12 (Horejsi) 2m F5J ship. Have seen it it in my friend's Q12x, it almost gets lost in the nose, but is very powerful. Swings a 13x8 on 3s. I will try a 13x10 and measure in-flight amps...

It is so light that I thought they forgot to put the motor in when I picked up the little Hacker box it came in...

Philipp

Edit: Might be difficult to get such a small spinner for your nose!
