Romney Hires PR Vet To Bite Back on Bain Attacks

The Romney campaign is hiring a corporate public relations specialist to help guide their response to questions about the candidate's time in the private sector with Bain Capital... to push back against attacks Romney aides insist have done nothing to hurt their cause.

Michele Davis, currently with the D.C.-based Brunswick Group, has a long and colorful résumé...

...worked with then Speaker Newt Gingrich to craft the 1994 "Contract With America,"

...to Fannie Mae, where she worked as a "vice president for regulatory policy" during a period of time when regulators eventually reported that the mortgage financing giant had been engaged in "extensive financial fraud."

... joined up with then Treasury chief Hank Paulson just in time to help push through and defend the 2008 bank bailouts.

...Davis left Treasury after the 2008 elections to join a firm defending BP as it tried in vain to staunch the flow of oil from its busted Deepwater Horizon well in the Gulf of Mexico.

...in 2005, during the Iraq War, she was appointed deputy national security adviser for strategic communications and global outreach by the Bush White House. That role was to have its place within the administration's working group called Team Charged With Winning Muslim Hearts And Minds.

Beside him keeping a lot of money offshore... the fact that he destroyed American companies, then took American jobs and shiped them overseas, makes it one of the biggest gripes I have against him.

I don't see why anyone would back him... unless he pays them.

Lets face it. The votes the man will get are not based on his record but more about spite. The anybody but Obama crowd might as well be a campaign slogan.

And what kind of presidential candidate whines about a few attacks and demands an apology when the going starts to get rough? And tries to sound tough by accusing the president who killed the world’s most-wanted villain of appeasement? That’s what they call overcompensation, and it’s a dead giveaway; it’s the “tell.” This guy is nervous—terrified—about looking weak. And ironically, being terrified of looking weak makes him look weaker still.

This is one of the many campaign incidents that should have proven to be a minor irritation. But these things are showing how the man deals with issues under pressure. And it's not been a pretty picture.

The difference in Romney and Obama is obviously Romney knows when to fold em, and Obama doesn't have a clue about when to hold them. Is it better to close a failing business, as frequent bankruptcies will attest, or is it better to just keep putting good money after bad as Mr. Obama has illustrated still leads to failure and in my opinion, GM isn't out of the water yet and without the continued purchasing assistance of the Fed Government it would have already failed. It has indeed become Government Motors.

Romney is a businessman and Obama is a socialists.....one helluva difference in my book.

Fun and right aren't always the same thing. Good and easy aren't always the same either and have different results many times. Good doesn't have to be expensive but is helps to be efficient.

If I was Romney, I'd have an army of PR folks to help battle the press and Obama lie ads which are working full time to discredit a great and successful man.

I have yet to see single thing about his Bain company that is illegal or even unethical.

As far as off shore money handling and tax loopholes--that's EXACTLY what this country needs--someone who is smart with money.

Of course all the PR in the world is not going to work on this countries large population of economic idiots who think "rich" is bad and "taxes" good.

Soooo, the question is: Will Mitt use his business skills for or against the people. Being a good business man really only translates into being very greedy. IMO
