Well, if you are wanting to lubricate an area that has no bushing or bearings, then look for a graphite lubricant. This formula does not attract dust or dirt. The best advice would be to install bearings or at least bushings there at those locations.
Ask for a hobby grade type oil that is safe for plastic at your LHS... they know what to sell you.
This would be best for the gearbox application.

I just ordered a tube of Testor's powdered graphite.
I haven't opened up any of my Tanks yet so I will have to learn more about the design as I go and upgrade to metal and bearings where needed.
