basically, no.

I have never found a plan yet that was immediately ready to laser cut without some CAD work.

Probably not, as they would end up in China, then sold back as an ARFÖ no royalties paid Iím sure.

Just out of curiosity, letís say you did find laser ready filesÖ what next?

I have several laser ready files, as does many folks Iím sure; no way would I post them.

Thats why I never shown my plans online unless theyre out of scale and with a wrong aspect ratio. I have found several plans on pdf that are easy to copy in cad and reproduce but it will not be an original design of me so I dont do it, not even for myself. But if those plans get to china you will see kits everywhere.

I've built the Lasersaur
more info here http://www.lasersaur.com/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lasersaur
Pioneering Open Source Laser Cutter: Lasersaur (1 min 59 sec)

Works pretty well. Not a super cheap project, but a really great learning experience.
It cuts SVG files and has some DXF support. For DXF files, I typically load them in Inkscape and convert them to SVG. That usually works well.
We too are looking for an airplane model to cut at home.
We've been cutting some 4ft long ribs for a human powered airplane project.

Here's our lasersaur and a jpeg of one of the rib svg files (rcgroups doesn't allow svg attachments).

If you are into gliders and motor glider there are many plans available here: http://www.scalesoaring.co.uk/

I also have several of my other Horten wing designs available if you are into that kind of thing.

Brian

In case he doesn't answer you (he's got all of one post): that Lasersaur, using the Bill of Materials from their recommended suppliers, is going to run about $10K. But keep in mind that's a 24" x 48" bed, and a 100W laser.

By using alternate sources for some parts (cheaper and/or locally sourced) it can come down quite a bit. Of course going to a lower watt laser cuts costs significantly too.

I spent 2-3 evenings reading just about everything I could find on Lasersaurs just a couple months ago. If I outgrow the 19" x 13" used one I bought here on RCG, I would certainly consider building a Lasersaur. They aren't foolproof yet, and aren't good for raster prints, but for cutting, pretty good.
