[RCSE] Austin Guys all mode one and have low batteries!!!!

Seems there is an exodus of pilots switching to mode one and having low
batteries.... Everywhere I go,,, or for instance today in Austin.

The air was nothing but thermal heaven conditions. Not too hot and a gentle
breeze. I hadn't brought my planes cuz it was supposed to be the super high
winds I had in KS and OK this week.

So when I asked each pilot if I could fly their planes, they all said, "Sorry
Gordy, I switched to mode one"..... Only one pilot seems to still be flying
two, Goodwin B, and when I asked him if I could fly his plane apparently his
" batteries are low"...

It was a great day in any case and after I held a little seminar on my
balancing system, I got a standing ovation! It was kind of weird though
because they waited to clap until I got in the car and started driving
away???

Oh well... :-)

You guys out there have no idea how much fun you can have soaring in
Austin!!! Great sticks, great sailplanes, great friends and really good
food.

I am such a lucky guy!

RE: [RCSE] Austin Guys all mode one and have low batteries!!!!

Gordy,

If you get a chance and the weather holds up, come on out to the HOTSS field
on Saturday. Everyone will be there around 9-10am and fly what they bring. I
know of several people who would let you fly their birds. On the other hand,
mode one pilots tend to mixed up in the brain too. Or is it the other way
around.

Check the website for directions. http://www.hotss-rc.org

Cheers,

Chris
