Traxxas Spartan Build

Ok so I'm fairly new to rc boats but I want to get a Traxxas spartan for cheap. I was thinking of assembling it myself, so I need help! I was wondering what electronics I should get that give it good speed but not too fast just yet. I want to stay with in traxxas for every thing but maybe the radio, and the battery. Also a price under $300 would be amazing! Can you guys please give me help on where to get the electronics and what electronics to get!!!!! Trying to get it before September 18 so please help!!!!!!!

If you want to build something yourself I would rather choose another boat, probably easier and cheaper.
But, if you like the Spartan and don't want to go to fast get the standard one, a used one on eBay for example and drive it on 4S - this won't hurt the electronic and motor and is still quite fast - you can upgrade for more speed later.

For faster speed I would get a Leopard 4082 with 1600kv and the Seaking 180A on 6S.

If you don't recommend a Traxxas Spartan then can you give a recommendation for v hulls that are compatible with the electronics you recommended.

Wow, never seen a swordfish 300A in a Spartan, especially not with a Leopard motor (which looks like a 4082 or 4092). That motor can only take 12S if you had the 700kv version of the 4092 (and that is still a maybe). That ESC is overkill, you'll never go near the 300A mark. The 700kv motor could only take 80A.

Also, I'd go with 65C batteries.

Spazrtanboatbizz.
It's probably too late, but Pheyd is right.
You have those packs connected in Series, not Parallel.
So 12s on that 1800kv motor will make over 79000 revs. That motor will fly to bitzz.
You need to connect the batteries in parallel for a 6s setup.
