Room for NEW RC SHOP in NC?

hei everyone...I've been considering a move to North Carolina recently - and I'm wondering if there would be room for a small RC SHOP to do decent business without hurting any of the other local shops? I've never had a shop before, but I'm definitely thinking about it alot lately. I'd also consider buying into a shop that already exists if there is anyone considering retirement within a few years. Anyone have any advice or info? I really appreciate any help you can offer.

goodbye yellow brick road

hehe...yeah, Nethole...you are right - there is definitely a lot of good things that I'll miss from CA...but at the same time maybe I can start living a normal life without the outrageous rents and "go go go" attitude...just need to relax :P hehe...

...NC_Search...

hei TillTheFourth...I just checked out the map; Winston-Salem is very close to where one of my cousins has settled her family...I'm hoping to move somewhere a little closer to the shore, like Wilmington...does anyone know what the hobby shop situation is in that area? I've heard that crime rates are really high in that area, but it looks beautiful and the cost of living seems very affordable there...but I'm still open to other suggestions...thanks everyone for your input...wishing the best...from the void...justin...

I was just up there Mon. and Tue. at Eaton/ Cutler-Hammer taking a class...
Beautiful place, I wish I could have stayed longer and visited...

As far as the smoke in restaurants go.....We ate out at a local steakhouse on Mon. In GA you can't smoke in restaurants either. When I saw the ashtrays on the tables and saw the people smoking, I was thinking " that's against the law don't these people know that?" then I realized....!DUH!!! I'm in NC..

Bring us a hobby shop! Im in western NC & moved from CA (born & raised there), YES you will be leaving behind the excellent food situation (its what I miss most) but there are decent places to be found & lots of food ingredients can be bought on the net. As far as the smoking situation I think you'll find the majority (almost all as a matter a fact) are non smoking. The anti-smoking zealots (no I dont smoke) are fast at work here as in other areas of the country. Anyway I think you'll find the slower pace refreshing except when you need someone to do something:-)

I would love to see a shop open up in Asheboro, NC....home of the NC ZOO.....right smack in the middle of the state, so you are half way between the coast and the mountains. Closest shop is 30 minutes away in Archdale. I was looking at available shops for rent a week ago and it seems that rent is very reasonable for a decent size R/C shop.
