What I find interesting is why on earth the BL upgrade kit described should need two versions, irrespective of Version 2 Rx and gyro changes? - as above, old and tired. Maybe someone can enlighten me. .

Hi guys

Big Bird II arrived yesterday just before I had to go to work. Only had enough time to find out that the charger doesn't work (email sent straight away) and that the heli made a "tsst, tsst, tsst" sound when running on the bench. Thought it might have been flybar strikes caused by slop in the blades, so I shimmed them without any noticable improvement. My thoughts then turned to unbalanced blades maybe having the same effect (strikes) but since I don't yet have fine scales I couldn't check it. Made a vid for analysis below. As can be seen, the flybar looks to be balanced and not hitting the blades.

"tsst, tsst, tsst" noise (0 min 40 sec)

Had a closer look this morning and discovered that the aile and elev servos have their own minds, and start twitching when the battery is plugged in. Happens even before binding with the TX. The noise I heard is obviously the servos twitching when the motor is running.

Is there an easy fix for this or do I need to send the heli back as a duffer?

Camera is ok too, rinsed with clean water, dried with compressed air.
The camera is a 808#16 key chain cam with the B lens.

I notice MJX doing weird things with their products. x200 has incompatible radio with all others(f45, x100, f47). WL radios are all compatible, even camera quad v959 can fly with all others (v911,v912,v929,v939,v949) expect you can't turn on the camera. If I didn't order 2 of f45 and didn't need camera on big heli I would move to WL v912 which is almost the same (a bit smaller) but no brushless and other upgrades available so far. All my other helis will be certainly WL

I'm amazed how camera and videos could survive after visiting underwater world for some time. Keep on experimenting What next? flying over open fire?

That's strange, maybe the swash plate can't move freely, does it also happen when you disconnect the servos from the swash plate?

Hi, its me again, I am having trouble deciding what batteries to go as an upgrade, does the above link will work on f45 as well?

Can anyone give me a link on what is the best battery for the f45. Having troubles finding them here in the forum.....lots of info though but it makes me more confused....lol.

This (from memory) is the best for stock f45

Will require some minor mods to battery holder, but fits well otherwise and has right connectors.

Just tried it again. Doesn't twitch any more, but now I have a constant buzzing when I plug the battery in - as though the servo it trying to do something - and have no aile reaction at all to the sticks. Elev servo seems to be OK now, but I think the bird's going back. Something stinks

Wow Fin,
You got a problem child there,
Try moving the servo wires around, I had a problem something like that after rebuilding my 45 completely
my tail was moving on its own, and I just moved the wire routing, and was all ok again, maybe getting a frequence from the electronics on pcb.
