New Product
Fancyfoam 33" Raptor Airfoil

The new Fancyfoam
33" RAPTOR Airfoil

Always wanting to push our model designs we got with Jamie Hicks and took what we learned from the original depron model designed by Jamie and Dennis Robbins and the 30" EPP flat wing version and produced this great new version with an airfoil wing.
This plane has a great roll rate, excellent knife edge spins and much more! It is an absolute blast to fly.
The kit is typical Fancyfoam style with laser cut fuselage parts and a CNC cut wing. All carbon spars, bracing and push rods are included along with landing gear, laser cut plywood control horns and a stick motor mount. The remaining electronics are available along with the kit making an easy to purchase package.
There are two recommended power packages for this plane. You can go light with the popular "bluewonder" 26gr motor or go for high power with our 36gr motor.

Specs:
Wingspan = 33"
Flying weight = 6oz/8oz
Controls = 4 channels

Power packages:
Light weight = 26gr motor, 8x4.3 prop, 12 amp ESC.
High power = 36gr motor, 9x5DD prop, 20 amp ESC.

Build Post:

Build instructions for 32" size Airfoil kits

Center of Gravity = 4" behind the wing leading edge at the fuselage.

Painting:
With EPP foam about any paint can be used. regular Krylon works great. Templates can be cut from poster board and stuck to the foam with pins.
You can also airbrush if that is your preference.

Airbrushing a Yak (5 min 8 sec)

Glue:
Most of the gluing can be done with Wleders or Foam-Tac. These are both contact adhesives are are used by applying glue to both contact surfaces of a joint, let the glue dry for 30 - 60 seconds and then press the parts together.
These glues are also used for creating glue hinges for the control surfaces. This is done by applying a small bead of glue to the point of the hinge bevel on both surfaces and then smearing the glue onto the foam. Again in 30 - 60 seconds the bevels are pressed together. After several minutes, flex the hinge as far as possible to loosen it up.

Caution!!!
If you use too much glue the hinge will be very stiff and the servo will have a hard time moving the surface.

welders hinge (1 min 16 sec)

Awsome vid!!!!
I know how hard that is because I flew from a boat at Pomme de Terre last week. Rather nerve racking.

Hey guys,

I am very excited to have this plane released to the public. It is my favorite foamy by far. I would rather fly it than even my depron planes. Very aggressive and can be smooth as well. Doesnt have that "mushy" 9mm Epp feel you get with a flat wing. Of course the fancy foam quality makes it a great combination.

If anyone sees me at an event with one, you are welcome to try it. Very nice flying plane.

Hope you guys enjoy.
