I stripped my plastic main gear on my Beetle only after a few minutes of my first test run. Wow, it is fast for a 2s. I am new to rc cars and I am assuming that I need to reduce the gap between the motor pinion and the main gear so that it does not strip as fast (saw the paper test method ). Should I also adjust the slipper too?

I hear ya I just re-ordered a new bat 2.2 7sfor 45 minute runs. I adjusted the gear not being to tight or to loose and not to in or out. lucky me I bought a second one due to the motor .

not sure if this can hit up to 40 but pretty close

this will be portable enough to take anywhere and that is what I love about it.

I run my slipper very loose. It helps save the spur gear, as well as the diffs.

Thanks I will give it a shot when I get a new part in.
Is it so loose that when you hold the back tires and throttle up that the font barely rises up...?

I have a metal spur coming in the mail. :^)

I've never tried checking it that way, but it is loose enough that if I put my foot in front of the car and ease the throttle up the slipper slips instead of the tires spinning. It's probably looser than many people run them, but I was having trouble with diffs stripping.

slipper or tire nutz both do play a toll when to tight or loose
