V912 Motor options
Hi folks!
Well my main motor fried after approx 15 flights :-(. From what I understand this is a brushed 380 size engine. I dont have any specs on it though. Does some one know if there is a better and more powerfull motor that can be used for this helli? I was thinking of the Extreme 380 but I heard many bad things about that one. Maybe go brushless with a esc and and converter? (Any suggestions) Best regards Swed |

The Xtreme 380 is a good motor, but you may have to trim blades to decrease resistance. It likes high rpm and lighter loading.

Take a scissors and cut about 1/8" (for starters) off the entire length of the trailing edge of the blade. It will decrease lift and resistance and make the motor run at higher rpms. Otherwise, they can bog and draw too much current and toast the FET on your board. But, I don't know how the Xtreme 380 runs on 7.4v . Try it first. You may not need to trim the blades.

Just finished watching a damn good new movie called "Flight" with Denzel Washington. If youre into aircrafts/flying you will like it! I dont think you will see it as a inflight movie any time soon though... ;-) Regards Swed |
