Anyone still make Pylon kits
Im looking to build a pylon kit. I remember the Scat Cat kits were around 20.00 years ago...

Q500 kits that are used in current Q25, Q500, are running around $149.00 and the more deluxe kits can run $500.00 to $600.00 each.

I sell a laser cut Q500 short kit with foam main wing and v-tail cores for $85 plus shipping.We have been competing with these for the past few years and have plenty of wood to show for it!

Hi Vic,
good to hear from you! Unfortunately I will be holding the team USA FAI F3D selection event and will not b able to attend this year.  I apologized to Mike for the conflicting event, as I really wanted to come up for it again this year. I will be there next year!  I do use a foam core tail section as a standard, but I can have a balsa blank tail cut if someone prefers it. The wooden tails come out around 2.5~2.7oz. for me, and the foam core ones at 2~2.2oz. I also think the foam tails are stiffer overall, and there is no shaping of the airfoil to mess with when using the foam cores. All of mine for 426 & 424 are foam, and I have not had a failure yet. Great looking kit! I think you need to send one up here for me to evaluate.
The 25# thing isn't funny at all. Just last week the stupid switch stuck and tater chipped another Viper wing. I made a new one Saturday afternoon and will be ready for the 29th. Hate to miss you bro. |
