The X9d will be first out the door -- Trick or Treat ... After that's successfully released the X12D and then we wait awhile until the mothership arrives... the X16D . -- it's going to be awesome. Features I'd hoped or in the X9D won't be there but I guess it makes the X16D worth waiting for. Each of the radios will have more than just more channels -- there will be other sweetness as well. I can't wait to have the first bite.
I will certainly be watching with interest and eking out the 20 model memories on my Mpx Evo til the 12 and 16 come out! These delays are disappointing, but I'd rather they get it right first time (I'm in the lucky position of being able to wait - my only alternative TX is the Jeti DS16, which isn't out yet and will be much much pricier).

All I need to know is if the display for the X9D will be on top. Is that really such a secret????

I think it was said that the second Tx will have two screens, from which I infer that the X9D will have one, probably obscured by the strap or beer belly, as usual. I do hope it's not another JR 9303 look-alike though I'll probably buy one anyway.

Here is a posting of display positions and I also read that frsky are using an existing molding for the x9d but new moldings for the x12d and x16d. so seems that x9d display will be below so we will need to wait for the others for a useful display!

The information in the 9x forum is the same information that was posted here in this thread.

LCD on the bottom, OLED on top.

Please continue to discuss anything you think might be of value in a new radio, keeping in mind we need to have it suitable for many different flyers.

FYI: there will be THREE FrSky radios upcoming, X9D first and followed by X12D and X16D. The specifications that were posted on page1 of this thread are for X9D.

X9D: one LCD screen
X12D: one LCD screen (at the buttom) and one monochrome OLED screen (on top)
X16D: one BIG color OLED screen (on top)

Again, thanks for all your support.

I fear you may be right, in which case I may just as well go for the 9X-R.... I have no need for the 12 or 16 ch versions...

Yeah, but nothing about X9D reusing an existing shell from another radio

Well I suppose they are doing it that way for speed and cheapness, if it works and does what I want though I will probably get one! The telemetry will be used more for data logging and alarms, the main one for me would be an altimeter to see how high I can get my dlg!
I am starting to question whether I actually need any telemetry now though lol, seeing as I time my flights and never had a problem with flat batteries early, and my dlg can go for over 4 hours between charges so never really gonna have a problem there either!
My dx6i is now full with extra models now not having any controls for them so I do need another tx so it really depends on price/quality of this unit as to whether I go for this or something else.
I see that there is an orange tx module for spektrum stuff that I hope will fit this tx so that I can put my dx6i aside and use this for everything.

Ehehe... doesn't quite say anything new.
Apart maybe from the audio out. (not sure if that was mentioned in the post from Chase Wu)
