Brushless A10 Rotor Removal - HELP!
This is a call for help in getting a rotor off its prop adapter, intact.
I've got a BananaHobby Brushless A10. I'm pretty sure one of the rotors needs to be balanced. First off, one is more noisy (like a vibration) than the other. Second, bench testing shows a large, to me, difference in performance between the two. Here's test results using my crude static thrust stand (I didn't get rpm, however, I think I can, if you guys deem it necessary).
3200 KV inrunners
54 mm/6 blade rotors
18 Amp ESCs
3S1P Xcite 1800/25C
Left Motor/Fan . . . . . . . Right Motor/Fan
---------------- . . . . . . . ------------------
11.98 V . . . . . . . . . . . . 11.98 V
12.70 A . . . . . . . . . . . . 11.00 A
152 W . . . . . . . . . . . . . 132 W
125 gm static thrust . . . . 142 gm static thrust
So as you can see, the left one is producing less thrust, while drawing more current. It also is the noisy one. I'd like to get the rotor off the prop adapter to try and balance it. But, I can't see how to do it without destroying it.
The motor end of the prop adapter is set screwed to the motor shaft. The rotor end of the prop adapter is axially drilled and tapped for a rotor retaining screw. The hub of the rotor shields any access to the shaft. I've tried reaching in to get ahold of the rotor hub but it won't pull loose.
So you see what I'm faced with, hopefully someone can shed some light on expert removal.

Almost no way to do it w/o breaking something. I just cut it off and buy a new rotor, or even a whole new fan. They're what, like $2.50?
