looking for plans for SWIFT S1 glider

Hello,

I am looking for plans of a the SWIFT S1 glider. So far I was able to find anything but a 3 Axis view on the web.

Does anyone have more details?

cheers,
Florian

If you don't mind semi-scale, I do have. I designed one myself and it flies very well.

You can have it for free. BTW, it's more like a sketch than full plan. I can guide you along the way. Give me a little more time. I think I'll add some details before sending you the plan. There's too little informations in it right now.

The outlines are scale except that the fuselage cross sections are rather flat instead of the egg shape.

My model has 1.5m (60") span and RG15 airfoil. The 2 piece wings are sheeted white foam core and fuselage is built-up from balsa sheets and carved to shape.

Just give me another day or 2. I'm almost done with putting in the details in the plan. I'll need your email address to send the attachment, by the way. It is in DWG format.

From this picture, you can tell where the deviation from scale comes from. However, I think it is still better looking than those flatty foamies.

Incidentally, I love the Swift a lot. I'm looking for a bigger and more scale version, but find that most kits are a lot more expensive than what I'd pay for , at this moment. If I ever find more time, I'll probably design another bigger and more scale version.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the information! the 3 axis views are more detailed than what I have found so far.

I was thinking of building fiberglass fusealage with lost form method and either foam core wings or full sheeted ribbed wing.

here is my mail adress: florianpeter AT aliceadsl.fr

cheers

Florian,

I've sent you the plan. As the matter of fact, most of my scale glider fuselages are built with lost foam method. This Swift is an exception, but it is sure much faster to produce.

See my other thread on my DG-300 ; http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=776888

My scartchbuilt 3m Pilatus B-4 uses lost foam method as well.
