Building a Quadcopter. Please Help!

Hi,
I am planning on building my own quadcopter. The only thing I need help with is getting a hold of the electronics. I know quadcopters need more than just an RX so if someone could give me a link to the computer that controls the propellers (sorry for not knowing the name) I would really appreciate it!

Look on hobbyking and search KK2.1.5 it is very common and reliable also fairly cheap.

You need to read a multirotor/quadcopter tutorial. Visit the dedicated multirotor forums here.

Your basic avionics package looks like this:

receiver -> flight controller -> esc (electronic speed controller) x 4 -> motor x 4

You're just talking of the FC above, and yes, KK2 series is a very good pick for a beginner (the only one I've used so far). You might be also interested in the DJI Naza and a few other options, depending on how you want to fly, how much quality time you want to spend with the FC, and how much money you want to blow off.

If u want to contact me I build minis and large multirotors for a living. Also if its It first one I recommend going with the naza lite for cost with GPS as it has return to home and if u do it right u will love it. Once u get better look into open pilot cc3d or revolution open pilot with GPS flight controller. If u have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thank you guys for the info. That is just what I needed. I'm going with the KK 2.1.5. I'm building my own because I'm trying to do this with as little money as possible. Thanks though zackthrills.
