What is the best Radio to use for FPV?
What would be the best radio model to use for FPV? Also, what frequency does that use? I am not looking to go long range, I was thinking of no more than one mile (5280 feet). What radio model would be best for that?

i get 1.3 miles with the Frysky 2.4 hack conversionon an old Futaba 6EXA 35 meg.zero probs..
So if you have an old TX,thats the cheapest and best route. |

Yeah FRSky DIY with any old radio or the Turnigy 9X if you can get one.

yeah, the futabas or 9x with the custom firmware are nice because they allow for PPM out to a long range system like draong link and allow for PPM input from a head tracker.
radios like the DX8 or 7s you have have one or the other.... not both (easily) so I use a DL with my Dx8 with no issues, but if i wanted to us a headtracker as well it would not be doable. I have a turnigy 9x with er9x on it on the way and will be testing it with my dragon link soon.... the more channels the better

Best radio by far Futaba 9C (35 or 72 Mhz.) upgradeble to 2,4 and UHF.
Get a good nice clean one and have fun. Why do you think the still price close to 200 USD for an old model radio??? Because every FPV pilot wants one. |

9x radio, open 9x or er9x, skip the smartieparts board, go with a$6 avr usb programmer , wait for er sky board, and you're good to go. Then dragon link and a ham license
