Wicked Wing Winglet Mods and Whistle Placement.......

Wanna' make you whistle whistle? Place it 2.5" from the LE.

Enlarge the tip fins by 30% and attach them as shown for quick replacement/storage. The wing tip is capped with thin ply and the 'kinked' wire retainers are pushed into aluminum. (slot car technology)

Yet to be tested as my WW is still a combat virgin. But, from watching my FB beat on each other with theirs attached using hot glue, tape or velcro, I'm thinking it should work out OK. That seems to be the part the takes a lot of trashing. I've got spare winglets for the worst case scenario and the quick change feature makes repair/replacement a breeze.

We'll see...................

So weird that you posted this yesterday as my buddy and I were talking about the whistle thing at the same time.

Clean covering job on that thing! Enjoy the flying.

I was flying Sunday in big wind and getting warp speeds with three other WWs that had the whistle mounted in other locations and mine was the loudest.

I covered mine in lam film, no tape at all and it's stiff as a board. It's 18.5 ounces with a 2400 AA NiMH and balanced perfect at the forward recommended CG which the other guys say is best.

A FB's is over 21 ounces and flies in the lightest of lift, which I've yet to experience.

This wing is wonderful, I'm in love again

Been flying with Goldguy.....and the winglets hold up pretty good in combat. The attachment method allows the winglet to loosen a bit on heavy impacts without loosing the winglet all together (almost always ). Just land to tighten it up if you want, altho it usually flys pretty good while floppin around too. If you use a longer wire clip it will hold the winglet to the wing indefinitely. In case of a head on and the WL gets obliterated, it's very easy to to just cut a new one and clip it on.
