A two into one exhaust. Picture from Avspecs Ltd. facebook Mosquito progress photos from Nov 2011. I would image it was done to give more space between the hot exhaust and the leading edge of the wing.

See this thread also for some discussion on the matter: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/i...cks-and-not-6/

I note Brett Cudby had posted a few times in this thread under the nickname of Toast. Sadly, Brett was killed last Tuesday as the result of an electrical accident in his workshop. A reminder to us all I guess to live life to the full, but always be alert to possible dangers. RIP Brett.

Yes I'm speechless I never had the pleasure of meeting Brett but from the few times we spoke online he was always kind had great ideas for this hobby. I know he had hooked up w/ a few of the other guys that are participating on this thread and gone to the air shows w/ them, he seemed larger than life it self. RIP Bret I know your in a far better place but you will be missed here my friend.

Darryl that is terrible news, all our lives are punctuated by events that serve as stark reminders of our own mortality. My thoughts are with his family.

Thanks KiwiKid...Again my condolences to Bret's family
He would have loved to see all of those War Birds flying together
and so would have I. I'm hoping when the Mossie reaches the east coast USA
they will have a very similar kind of air show for us to see.

Mark and all, on my previous trip to NZ I met up with Brett and had a long chat about model building but his real love was flying them. Sadly I picked a lousy time to go as it was windy and raining when I arrived at New Plymouth so did not go flying. He was an avid model builder and made many models for others as well many for himself. He told me that he was going start building the Mosquito this year 2013 and knew of many others who would like to build it too. While I only knew him for a short time and he impressed me, he shared so information on model building. I had contacted him to come to the Air Show but he wanted to go to the Model shows in Feb/Mar. Brett, I knew you for a short time but I will miss you. Bye

Bruce On a lighter note here are some of the other planes at the Air Show
Will paste my photo's later, its dinner time. enjoy Rod

Bruce, have taken a break from the tail wheel build and started the wings, Following your build info have reached the coverng of the right wing. Have left plenty of covering for the flap assembly. Here are the photos Will do the intake scoops next Rod

Thanks for the photos Roddie...Your making great progress on your wing and if you keep this up will pass me by w/ the build but that's okay. Yes I was looking forward to having Bret join in here w/ us building when he started his Mossie he had told me he was going to build one as well and I think it was going to be a larger scale model, what a great guy he will truly be missed.
