Need a new Covering Iron?

Maybe not! My Dad gave me a tip at Thanksgiving(I don't know if he is the originator) on how to use a covering iron when the teflon wears off. You can spray heavy duty silicone spray on the shoe when the iron is cool , and smooth it out with a paper towel. When the iron is heated up it slides like new, and doesn't abrade covering film. It seems to last quite a while, but can be easily re-applied when it starts to wear off. Handy little tip for me since my iron is losing teflon off the corners, and tip.
